iMagnet Cradle-less Universal Phone Mount Vouchers

Kenneth Wygant (Omaha, NE United States):
Great product. Mine arrived while I was at work. My wife opened it and put it in her car to test it. She promptly called to let me know it was now hers and I could order another for myself. Now that I have one, I agree with her enthusiasm. So much better than messing with a clip in mount.

I purchased this for using my iPhone's GPS in rental cars. I know that sounds crazy specific, but when navigating around NYC and NJ without local knowlegde, you don't want your GPS/phone floating around on the passenger seat or dash board. When not in the car, I use it mounted to my home office desk.

I was most skeptical about the quality of the magnet and thus, the hold. This unit is rock solid, and the on/off tension of the magnet is perfect - not too strong, not too weak. The silicone suction is much better than any other mount I've used from Garmin and others. It also works well on more than just glass or glass-like smooth surfaces. You just place one of the paper thin metal pieces between your phone and case (I don't use the 3M peel/stick provided), and it works like a charm. A real bargain at $20-25.

Okay. I got this last week. It's 104 in Texas right now in mid August. I came out to my car after work and tried mounting my phone and the entire thing just fell onto the floor. Apparently the "suction cup technology" does not agree with warmer temperatures. Also, I have a bigger Android Galaxy S3 and it won't mount upright. It turns to the side slowly while you're driving and sometimes falls off all together! I've tried moving the metal disk in the back and that doesn't work either. I guess I'll keep it, but definitely wouldn't purchase again. Maybe it will fair better in cooler temperatures.
